It is a cutie! All the colours and proportionate to the official Newfoundland Tartan. The colours of the tartan are derived from the ‘Ode to Newfoundland’, the province’s anthem:
Gold represents the sun’s rays,
Green the pine clad hills supplying wood for the principal industry,
White of the winter snow,
Brown for the mineral wealth of the Province and
Imperial Red to commemorate the Royal Standard and her British origins.
