Toraigh lies 9 miles off the north-west coast of County Donegal, Toraigh (pronounced Tory) is the most remote of Ireland’s inhabited islands where people still talk of ‘travelling to Ireland’.Toraigh is famous for its school of ‘primitive painters’, who were encouraged by the internationally famous painter, the late Derek Hill.
