Maple Leaf Tartan – the national Tartan of Canada

  • Black Leather Bill and Button top
  • Quilted liner, in gold satin complete with a new Peaky Patch
  • Fitted back

The newsboy has its place in American history, brought to United States from Europe shortly after the turn of the 20th century.  Long revered for their quality craftsmanship and sought after fabrics, Scotland has always been a cornerstone of influence for the caps we done today.

For each of us, it’s hard to find a family lineage that doesn’t have a trace of Scotland, Ireland, or Canadian ancestry as our established families migrated to this country decades ago. We pay homage to cultural significance that these regions have played on today’s fashion.

Tartan has been a longstanding symbol of tradition and heritage, born in Scotland and adopted across the globe. Tartan patterns and colors form complex patterns, bring a touch of elegance to any piece of the wardrobe. Inspired by our participation in Dressed to Kilt (one of the world’s most prestigious Scottish fashion shows), we chose a hand-woven Gray Highlander Tartan, set beside a black suede fabric to create a subtly strong cap that is complimented by one of three culturally rich tartans embedded on the underside of a black leather bill.

All of these tartans were intentionally chosen due to their unrestricted wearability, popularity, and incredible colors. Welcome by anyone, regardless of your background or heritage, you are invited to adopt the colors and patterns and make them each your own.
